This Weekend at the Stamford Museum: The Maple Sugar Festival!
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, Stamford area locals are invited to attend the Maple Sugar Festival Weekend at the Stamford Museum. A celebration of the magical transformation of raw maple tree sap into delicious maple syrup, the festival taps 200-plus maple trees scattered across the museum’s 118-acre grounds.
You’ll be able to witness the syrup-making process from start to finish, beginning with a tree-tapping demonstration and finishing with a taste test of this year’s finished syrups at the all-day pancake cafe. You’ll also find plenty of other family-friendly activities, including children’s crafts, face painting, a petting zoo, and more. Live music, games, and planetarium shows ensure that there’s something for everyone to enjoy as you explore the festival throughout the day. Tickets are $12 ($6 for museum members) and can be purchased online ahead of time.
